My name is Rita Madore LaFountain. I was born in Caribou, Me. in l94l. My father was Peter Frederick Madore born 1/18/1907. He married Yvonne Devost.
His father was Pierre Madore who married Alice Morin on 6/21/1904 at Wallagrass, Me. Pierre's father was Joseph Madore who married Julie Pinette 2/3/1857 @ Ste. Luce, Frenchville, Me. Joseph's father was Augustin Laplante Madore who married Brigitte Levesque 2/22/1819 at Kamarouska, Que. Augustin's father was Jean Baptist Madore Bourliere No. 2 born 4/4/1746 and he married M. Anne Pelletier 2/10/1777 at Kamarouska. Evidently, he was married twice as we come with Marie Anne Oullette 11/8/1784 at Kamarouska. Also seen as 11/20/1784 in parts of FTM. Source:FTM Vol. 4 Tree 2805 &2242. Jean #2's father was Augustin Amador de la Bourliere dit LaPlante born in 1712 in Kamarouska and married Marie Anne Michaud born 1722 at Kamarouska and died 1/14/1786. They were married 11/20/1742 at Kamarouska. Same source as above. Augustin's father ,Jean Baptist Laplante de le Bourliere born abt. 1670 in Quebec. He married Catherine Francoise Martin born abt. 1677, married 2/11/1697 at St. Pierre, Isle Orleans, Que. Source for this is FTM vol. 2, Tree 5703, vol. 3 Tree 0119 and Vol. 4, 2242. Jean's father was Jacques De LaBoulierre who married Franciose Ferront
WFT estimates 1663-1693 at Poitou, France. Same source as above.
There seems to be some difference in the information we have as to who came over from France and when. We have information in Family Tree Maker 5.0. If you're interested in what we have, we can e-mail it to you. We would be interested in any information you could give us from Jean Baptist #2 to Peter Frederick Madore. (Maybe you could answer a question for me. What does "dit" mean?) Don't speak French anymore. We left Maine when I was 7 and when we moved to New York State, I didn't hear it except for at home with my Mom and Dad.
I understand you've been in contact with my nephew, Jerry Lorow, who has been working on the geneology with us. Looking forward to hearing from you.
