Hi Michelle,
I am in Brisbane, and have just started looking into this side of the family. The Madill that I know of is Richard Madill (my great great grandfather) who came to qld in about 1860. I think he had a brother called Thomas, because I have seen a Thomas Madill in the electoral rolls for the 1880's, also in qld. From what I can gather this branch of the Madill's came from Kilmore, co. Monaghan. Richard married Elizabeth Mathie in qld and had 7 children 4 girls and 3 boys. One of the boys died as a baby and the other two married and had only daughters, so the name died out. Let me know if I can help with anything else. I would love to see if we can link up the 2 families!
Cheers,Libby
P.S. my email is libbymcrobert@hotmail.com (if that's easier than going through here).
