hi, the name is Irish. five bros arrived cira 1832. Godderham has hugh settlement of Madill's. Was originally a French Hugenot name meaning "megallion" or metal worker. Following the slaughter of the Hugenot's by French King ancestors left for Scotland were named McGill, Ireland known as MadillHope this helps Mary
