The Stephen that I was looking at was Stephen (1872-1954) who was the son on Martin & Anna.

I have not found any info on the death of Martin, Sr.
It looks like Martin & Anna returned to Danbury when Martin, Sr hit retirement age.
If you haven't already, you should try the following:
* Ask the Danbury, CT county clerk to search for his death record in 1890-1900.
* Try the Catholic cemeteries in Danbury that were active in the 1890's to see if they have a record of his burial - assuming that he wasn't taken to Portage for burial.
* If Danbury has a historical/genealogy society, you could check with them to see if any local library has an archive of obituaries from the 1890s to see if they have one for Martin
* Check to see if Danbury published an annual City Directory in the 1890s. Again, the local historical/genealogy society would know this. You could find out where they were living in Danbury - that may give you some clue as to the Church they attended and maybe the local cemetery - and if they were living with/near other Madigans that you could track down for burial place.
Let me know if you find anything.
Good Luck,

Bill Madigan
