My great grandfather was Patrick Madigan. He married Mary Sheehan in County Limerick in 1853. In 1854 they moved to Schenectady, NY. He was a coachman for Edward Delavan. Later he worked for NY Central RR, Also a stationary engineer in the old Utica shops in the city. In 1889 Mary died and he moved to Chicago to live with his children. He had 2 daughters and 5 sons. Sister Innocenza, of Holy Cross Convent Notre Dame,IN, Mrs. Daniel Leahy Chicago, John H. superintendent Chicago Bridge and Iron Works, Patrick in charge of the mechanical department Chicago post office, William M. General foreman turbine department General Electric Works, James J. Machinist General Electric, and Joseph M manager Standard Oil Co. plant Lima, Ohio (my grandfather) I hope that this helps you.
