David, I have read your Genformum messages with interest. I have a great-grandmother Martha J. Midwell (?) who married a William Phillips in Pope County, Arkansas on November 11, 1874. As I have researched these people, I keep encountering Standridges. I haven't been able to trace the Phillips or Midwells but think they came from the White/Van Buren /Fentress counties of Tennessee. There were severa; Standridges in Pope County. I'll be happy to trade information. Maybe we can begin to make some sense of all this.
