Stanton had a farm on Martins Creek, also some Stantons lived in Baxter. I can remember my grandmother Maddux talking about Addison, I thought it was a strange name. Kids don't pay much attention to old people talking.Stanton lived close to her in Baxter. I had an aunt that lived at Spring Hill & Thompson Station most of her life. Another that lived in Nashville all her life.
Copies of book at Nashville, Carthage, Smithville, Sparta, Baxter, copy is gone out of Cookeville, someone took it, and many other libraries around the country. Mormans have it on film.It is 8 1/2 x11, 330 pages about 18,000 people having some type of connection to the Putnam Co., TN area, just straight genealogical records of people, no stories. Around 50 years of Lela's work and a life time of Andrew Lafevers work and several other people. Some of the records are on Mormon family search as of six years ago. Cost is $25. postpaid. Printed in Ann Arbor MI.Maddux around Cookeville have many loose records that have never been published, about 30 years ago they tried to put a Maddux book together, but could not get much interest in it. I was born in Baxter, part of the Maddux, Lowe, Winfree, Brock, line. Lala was born in edge of DeKalb Co. part of the Murphy, Barr line.
