Dear Clarence, Is it possible that this could be the family of Elizabeth A. Madox, b 12 October 1797 in VA? I have very little on her. She was married 1814 most probably in or near Anderson Co TN. She left there with her husband, Aaron Hawkins, in 1817/1818 for the Yellow banks, Daviess Co KY. where they remained and raised a family. There was a Nathaniel and John Maddox/Maddux in Anderson Co TN at the time she was there. Nathaniel died (estate 1815)and John received money from the estate. So they were related. Could this be the same Nathaniel Maddux who married Ann Tennison in Fauquier Co VA in 1786?

I noticed the Shaver name in your post. Aaron Hawkins' sister, Rhoda Hawkins married Thompson Helms in Fountain Co IN. Thompson died and Daniel Shaver/Shafer was named guardian of his miner children along with his wife, Rhoda.

There is a Matthew Maddux in Fountain county who died in 1834. He married Dicy Guinn in Cocke Co TN. He served in the 1812 War out of Cocke County, TN. Matthew Maddux lent Rhoda's brother, Morgan Hawkins, money to buy land in Fountain Co ca 1828.

I am trying to identify my ancestor, Elizabeth A. Madox. Thanks for any help. Jeanne
