I am looking for more information on Robert E Maddox's Parents. Robert E Maddox was born Dec 1869 Scott Co. Va. His mother and fathers names arent known. He was taken to a poor farm just outside of Gate city, Virginia when he was 4 or 5 years old. He was taken in and raised by William and Elizabeth Harris.When he was 21 He married Laura D Haynes. He is my Great Grandfather and the family has searched to him and can go no further, because it is said that he illegitimate. I have been trying to trace my family tree so I can passed it on to my grandchildren.
