I am not a descendant of George Maddox, however I submitted a DNA test using my 1st cousins Foster's DNA, Kit#105358, had to do it that way since my mother was a Maddox.
My GGGGrandfather is William Maddox (b. 1776 MD). 1st 12 markers show a match with Lawson (b. 1784 SC). I believe William, Chandler, and Lawson were brothers to Benjamin Jr. As you said there is lots of circumstantial evidence, such as Abbeville SC cenuses, they show up together at the estate sales of John and Thomas Maddox (other likely brothers), they migrate to Alabama and wind up close to each other there, etc. However,I am inclined to think your Daniel might be a cousin to Chandler rather than a brother.
Let me know if I can help you in any way.
