Diane-
I think you're correct! I probably have a lot of George Jr's descendants in my paper files (unfortunately I haven't imported very many of George Jr's family into my FamilyTree program.) They were given to me by Debbie Tamborski, another George descendant. I do not have any more documented history on George Sr. As I said, he was one of the signers on the petition to form Tazewell County, VA. He and Stephen Madden both appear on Russell County tax lists in the 1790's. By 1798, Stephen is no longer there. Was Stephen George's brother or father? Many of the settlers in Russell County came from Pennsylvania. In 1745 a Stepehn Madden came from Ireland as an indentured sevant. Is this the same Stephen and George's father? Maybe...just a theory at this point! One other thing, the waterway that George Jr's family lived on was called Irishman's Creek. Let's keep in touch.
