I have an ancestor, Robert R. Tompson (may be misspelled) born about 1640 in Maryland. There are a lot of "Robert"'s, "James"'s and "John"'s in the family tree, so I surmise that his father bore one of those names. Having read about the "cleansing" of the Highland clans, taking place about this time, I thought it might be possible that his family immigrated to America, although I can find no passenger list with any names. To anyone reading this...would you have anything to share? Or a place I might turn? There is something I found that indicated his family might have been from Wales, but this is not confirmed. Thanks in advance to all. Jmsrbrt@gvtc.com
