Farquhar McRae was my Alexander's first cousin. Farquhar was the informant of Alexander's death in 1883, Mittagong.
Alexander, his wife Ann & one child, Hellen came to Australia on the "William Nichol" in 1837 under the Bounty Scheme. It is most likely that Farquhar, Barbara & eldest son emigrated on the same ship.
I have a copy of Farquhar's death cert (1892). It states his parents were John McRae & Mary. The informant was John McRae, son , Redfern. Farquhar married twice. Barbara was the second wife.
Barbara's death cert (1871) states her parents as Ewen McLennon & Mary Isabella Macrae. Informant was John McRae, son, Mittagong.
