I'm a descendant of William MacRea, born in Kintail in 1670. He married a "Miss Creighton" probably in County Down, Ireland abt. 1700. He dropped the "Mac" from the family name, probably upon emmigrating to Ireland, as he may have been involved in the first Jacobite 'Rising. Three or four more generations of Reas were born in County Down and County Tyrone, before Robert Scott Rea, born in County Tyrone in 1793, left Ireland for America, settling in Fannet Township, Franklin County, Pennsylvania.
I'm interested in knowing more about the Creighton connection, as well as any earlier generations of William's family. Any help would be appreciated.
