Hi, Kathy. I found some information that John McQueene/MacQueen was a Covenanter and was on a ship that was sent to America with about 150 others who were Covenanters. Another ship left at the same time but sank, so only the 150 made it. The Covenanters supposedly had an agreement that allowed them to worship as they chose, but the English king went back on it. You can actually look up Covenanters on the internet for more historical information. I've also read that the great Scottish general Leslie was a Covenanter also and led some battles against the English. I think the Abernathys were also involved - anyway, I have another ancestor that was sent to America about the same time who was an Abernathy fighting with Leslie and captured - he had a choice of exile to America or death in the Tower of London.
