Have posted some great-great-grandparents MacNeill from PEI who lived and died in Chelsea & Boston area ..buried in Holyhood.Their daughter Mary Ellen MacNeill are in adjacent Holyhood plots (married an O'Keefe).They were PEI born.Also have more info at

NB MacNeillname form is sept of MacNeil ..the additional 'L' is a family key.
If any records cross and prod queries ..our family's Mary Ellen & Margaret MacNeill were PEI born ..Margaret in May, 1869 .. and are not the MacNeill's who came over from Barra in 1867 with John MacNeill, listed on a gravesite transcription.

NB MacNeill spellng is with two 'L's -- the two L MacNeill is a 'sept' of the MacNeil clan of Barra, Scotland.A 'sept' is a gaelic word for an authorised family of a larger family group or clan.
"MAC" was always stressed by living relations -- but often shortened to McNeill.
