Just posted a long reply to you and lost it so will just give a few details.I am also working on the MacMaster connection, being decendant from Janet (MacMaster)Crocker's brother, Thomas. from the 1901 kings County census, there is a James MacInnis, b. 29 Jan. 1862 married to Flora, born June 29, 1870, and living with them is a William MacGinnis, b. April 01, 1822, on the the 1891 census he is called James, and widowed. I believe this is the William who married Sophia. There is a marriage record for James w. McGinnis and Helen Welton, married 11 Sept. 1883in Tremont, which gives James' birth as Halifax and his parents as William McGinnis and Sophia. I believe Flora was his second wife.Have not connected Sophia to any of my MacMasters, but will keep looking. I have James and Helen's and Fllora's children and an Obituary of Elsie Faye one of the daughters., but will leave that for next time so I don't get bumped.
