Ladies and gentlemen, I found a photo in an antique store today. It is a studio photo of man taken by Lovell Studio, Amherst, Mass. The handwriting on the back says: "Charles Mac Master" "Uncle by marriage of Father's Mother". Mr. Mac Master appears to be about 55-60 years old. He has neat, short cut hair, graying at the temples. His sideburns connect to his (Abraham Lincoln type) beard along his lower jaw and neckline (his chin is shaven). His hair appears to have been brown at once, now salt & pepper, and his eyes appear to be brown. He is wearing a dark suit with matching collared vest and a white collared shirt with a wide, knotted tie (tie goes under the collar, but no tail hangs down, and it is not a bow tie). From his clothing and by dating other photos that I found this one with (some have Civil War revenue stamps), I estimate that the photo was taken c. 1860-1870. Please let me know if you would like to have this photo. I paid $2.00 and do not wish to profit, but would like to have my $2.00 back + SASE. (I buy photos with names on them every time I find them; 30 or so at a time, and this gets expensive if I don't get reimbursed.) I can be reached at: UnderwoodGenealogy@hotmail.com I hope that someone has this distinguished looking gentleman in their tree. Regards, Suzy Underwood Notify Administrator about this message?
