Joe--Don't mean to bully in on this party, but since I saw your name was Sisson(m) I thought you might be interested in this bit of information I tried to submit to the Sisson home page.I was unsuccessful because the webmaster's email rejected it.Her name was Carol at [email protected] and you may be familiar with the Sisson family website. This was my email message to her--
Carol:
Just a bit more information for your ged.com "Descendants of Richard (1608-1684) and Mary (d. 1692) Sisson of Rhode Island".
My 2nd g.grandmother was Eva Amelia Bancroft. She was married to Almanzo Sisson, son of Azariah, as shown in your ged.com.They had a son together before Almanzo either died or deserted Eva.(I've heard Eva was quite beautiful, so I think Almanzo died.)
Eva Amelia Bancroft
Born: 30 Jul 1854 in Pelaski or Petoskey, Oswego County, New York
Died: 16 Jan 1916 in Sheridan Township, Mecosta County, Michigan
Buried:Jan 1916 in Strong Cemetery, Sheridan Township, Mecosta County, Michigan
Child of Almanzo and Eva Amelia (Bancroft) Sisson:
James Sisson
Born:17 Nov 1875
Died:21 Feb 1915
James was adopted by Joseph Peter Flora (Floria), Eva Amelia (Bancroft's) Sisson's 2nd husband.
James married Unknown and had 3 children. These three children carry the Floria surname because of James' adoption, but rightfully by bloodline are Sissons.I think Eva would agree because Joseph was no good and the kids finally ran him off with a shotgun.
The children of James Sisson and unknown are:
(1) Nina b. abt 1895
(2) James David b. unknown d. unknown married "AudreyMaiden Name Unknown" in 1947
(3) Thelma b. 15 October 1902
I wish I could give you more information, but I can't.This information came from cousins I'd never met, and in fact I didn't know my g.g. grandmother's name until about 6 years ago.I believe they sent me a copy of the bible that this info came out of, but like all amateur genealogists, I'm disorganized and haven't been able to find it lately.
If you have any questions, please feel free to email me.I felt James, who would be my grand uncle, should be noted in your tree, as well as the 3 children he had.
