Yes, I'd seen the 1841 census. Peter Spiers McNee and family moved to Glengilp Distillery by 1851 and may have died sometime between 1851 and 1861. In 1861 Jessie NcNee (nee Macleod) returned to Stornoway where she was proprietrix of house at 24 Cromwell Street.

I suspect George Macleod died between 1841 and 1851. The G.D. on the census may be a misreading of G.P.? His widow? Catherine was House Proprietrix in Cromwell Street in 1851. Perhaps this house passed to her forementioned daughter Jessie, as noted above.
