Katharine,

My 'Y' DNA test through Family Tree DNA strongly suggests a Talisker origin for our family as myself and my third cousin are only one marker off at 37 from the current brother of MacLeod of Talisker in Australia.

In fact, what we are finding through this research is that many of the so-called "cadet" families of Dunvegan and some of the more notable clan families do not show a descent from Leod.
