My Mac/MacLellans are from South Uist and Benbecula. The first to move to this area was Neil MacLellan, b. Bet. 1766 - 1771. His children were Hector, Donald, Farquhar, Nancy and John. I know that Hector and Donald left South Uist in 1851 when they were forced from their land, when their clan ran out of money and the sheep herders moved in. Hector, Donald and their families emigrated to Ontario in 1851. I hope to hear from you.
