Maybe this posting is too late for you to be of any use, but I only just this week checked out this forum. There is a listing of this Donald MacLellan and family in the "History of Inverness County" book by J.L. MacDougall. On Page 389, under the title "McLellans", he writes: " Donald McLellan - Domhuill macAoghnais ic Neil ic Eoghain - who came to this country from Morar about the year 1819 was married to Mary Gillis (neighean Dhomhuill ic Mhartuim). Many of her people settled in Mira, Cape Breton Co. Their family consisted of Donald, Archy, Ronald, Andrew, John, and Angus. Donald, blacksmith and poet, was married to Mary McIsaac of Strathlorne (whither he himself afterwards moved) with issue: Angus, John, Donald, Frank, Vincent, Catherine, Ann, and two Marys." You can also get some information from the Gaelic translation of their names. "Domhuill macAoghnais ic Neil ic Eoghain" is "Donald son of Angus son of Neil son of Hugh (or Ewen), so there is more information on fathers and grandfathers. My great, great grandfather was alos a Donald MacLellan from Morar. He came in 1843 and settled in Southwest Margaree, in the area called Southwest Egypt. Notify Administrator about this message?
