Am trying to connect my Hector MacLean to his family. He was born October 24, 1833 in Edinburgh, Scotland. At the age of 3, his family came to Canada. He is found on the 1851 census living near Seymour, Ontario. His uncle Charles MacLean's family lived in the vicinity, too. Hector married Jane Whitton (daughter of James & Elizabeth Heseltine Whitton) in 1858. They had 3 children: Isabella, Allan and Elizabeth. Their family moved in 1868 to Iowa and finally settled in Lancaster Co., Nebraska. Hector died in 1915 at the home of his son in Dunning, NE. His obit noted that he came to Canada at the age of 3 with his parents. It also noted that he was the last of his family, with his parents and 3 sisters preceeding him in death. I have several news clippings and hand written notes that connect him to Charles's family. But, I have no obvious connections to his immediate family. Any help in solving this family connection will be greatly appreciated. Sue S. Notify Administrator about this message?
