Sir John MacLane , 1600s

According to the info we have, Sir John MacLane (gfx6) was a younger son of the Laird of Lochbuie who might have emmigrated to Canada or America from Mull in the 1600s. Then again, he might not have! It might have been Daniel or Malcolm who emmigrated.

His son was Daniel McLane, who married Molly Beaton.

Their son was Malcolm McLane, who married Isabelle/Mary Livingstone in Hillsborough county, NH, daughter of a 'Lord' John Livingstone (or Levingstone), also of Hillsborough County( Francestown), NH. There is quite a sweet story of what Malcolm was required to do to prove his worth to Lord Livingstone.

Their son was Daniel McLane, who married Mary Starrett.

David Starrett McLane married Martha Ann Kelsey, 1 July 1841, in NH.

George Alvah McLane (b 27 Sept 1844, Lowell, Ma) m Annie Wirsing.

Myrtle Jean MacLane m John C. Johansen (Chicago)

Myrtle Jean was my maternal grandmother.

My question concerns information about Sir John, his predecessors, and Daniel and Malcolm. Thanks so much in advance! Jeannie M.
