Lachlan McLean of Kenovay (Ceannabhagh) Tiree and son Allan

I am looking for information of Lachlan McLean b abt 1742 m. to Catherine in the 1779 census of Argyll. They had a son Allan - In 1801 this son and father were kicked off of their land it appears because of distilling. I descend from an Allan McLean b. 1770s who married a Mary McDonald and lived in Kenovay, Tiree, Scotland. They had some of their children in Kenovay and then they emigrated in 1804 to Baldoon, Kent Co., ON Canada. I would like to correspond with anyone who knows Lachlan's family to see if Allan could be his Allan. I tried to use the Scottish naming practice, but it breaks down - Allen's oldest known son (if one might have died before the birth) was Hector - oldest daughter Christy or Catherine.
