A correction to my last entry, Lachlan MacLean was born ca.1750 and was a son to Allan not John MacLean.Lachlan's eldest son was Allan born Garvan 1773 and died in Blaich 18th January 1832 where he had a croft,he married Catherine MacPherson and had a number of children, his eldest son Lachlan 1812-1894, took over the croft in 1832 until his death.
Lachlan MacLean (senior) is buried in the Old Keil cemetery along with his wife Mary McColl, and possibly second wife Mary McLean? Lachlan's first child was born 1773, my gt gt grandfather 1797, and Mary born 1810, died in Liverpool 1886. Can't be possible for Mary McColl born 1755 latest, daughter of John McColl of Achpbule, Ardgour, she would be 55 when Mary was born. Found a birth 1810 to Mary McLean, which may explain it.
