John & Euphemia Maclean from Islay

Am researching the following family:

From 1841 Census:
Living in Corsabell, Kilchoman, Islay:
John Maclean, 65 yrs old, Hand Loom Worker
Euphemia Maclean, 60 yrs old
Donald Maclean, 14 yrs old
John Johnson, 7 yrs old

From 1851 Census:
Living in Smaul, Islay:
Euphemia, 70 yrs old
John Johnson, 18 yrs old, grandson to Euphemia, born in Glasgow.

My theory is that John Johnson or Johnston (my g grandfather) was orphaned (parents John Johnston and a Maclean girl). His father may have been from Glasgow, where he was born.

Norma
