I think we may have a connection with your family. We believe that your Donald is the connection. Here is an earlier post we made, see if it rings any bells with you and if so, please contact us. Thanks! Still searching for the following family: We have William MCLEAN arriving on the ship The Sarah in 1801 as a young boy, approx 11 years old. Traveling with him on the roster is another boy, John MCLEAN, approx. 8 yrs old. NEED INFO ON THE PARENTS OF THESE TWO BOYS. We have not confirmed the parental linkage for the other adults who were grouped on the roster with the boys and cannot make a firm connection. There was a Donald (farmer) and another older William (farmer). William (the boy from the ship) married Margaret CHISHOLM in 1813, and they had the following children: Elizabeth (m. William POLSON); William (m. Catherine MCDONALD); Daniel (m. Lydia FRASER); John (m. Lydia BALCOM); Margaret (m. George MCLEOD); Mary (m. Edward MCLEOD); James (m. Margaret ROSS); and Alpine (m. twice 1-Helen FOSTER, 2- Grace SNOW). William and Margaret raised all of their children on Fraser Mountain and had connections with some other McLeans from McLellan's Mountain/Brook - a John, a William, and a Donald. They did a lot of business in New Glasgow, and had farms on Fraser Mtn. We can track the children and grandchildren from 1810 up until 1901, then all but my great grandfather (John, b. 1821) disappeared. Anyone having connections to this family, please contact me. Family has also been known to spell MACLEAN on some records. Rob and Dianne McLean Notify Administrator about this message?
