I am a descendant of the John R. MacLean you are enquiring about. He was married in 1881 to Alexandrina Isabella Campbell/parents of J.R.Maclean listed as John Maclean/parents of Alexandrina listed as William Campbell and Elspit Mathieson/. They had 4 children in Scotland. Elspit(1881), William C., John, and my grandfather Donald Robert Campbell Maclean(b.1885). In 1889 they moved to Winnipeg,Canada as J. R. was granted a seat on the Winnipeg grain exchange. In Winnipeg they had 6 more children:George C.,Annie,Isabella,Stuart,Charles and Dorothy. I have only started reaseaching this line, and therefore have not proper birthdates for these individuals but can give you information on any of them. I am in contact with several relatives in Winnipeg and have various newspaper clippings etc. Would like to share any information you might have.
