Hi.

Try the Provincial Archives of Ontario. The Government kept a registration of BMD's in the Province after ca 1869.

www.archives.gov.on.ca

You can also try the following sites:

www.archives.ca - The National Archives of Canada
www.ogs.on.ca - The Ontario Genealogical Society. Look for the Hamilton Branch. You might also try the Niagara Branch and Toronto or York Region Branches. It is a volunteer organization across the Province.
www.ogs.on.ca/ogspi - Surname searchable database of BMD's and some Census info.
www.islandnet.com/ocfa - The Ontario Cemetery Finding Aid. Surname searchable.
www.vicu.utoronto.ca/archives/archives.htm - The United Church of Canada Archives. A lot of Irish were Episcopal Methodists and the church united with the Wesleyan Methodists in the 1920's.
www.cdncouncilarchives.ca/cca_dir/rel_org.html - A lsiting of a majority of relogious archives in Canada.

Andrew.
My ancestor was a MacLean in Niagara.
