I do not know if this is the John McLean you seek. I have posted a message today about original letters I have acquired with an old song book. The letters are dated 1874 and 1877. The name Mary was signed in one of them as I was able to read. Also there was speach of a child dieing at birth. Please read my post about information that might be helpful to cousins of ours below. Send me a message to my email if I can make scans or photo copies of these letters for you.
