Daniel MacLean (brother of John MacLean) would have been born in the late 1790's I presume, as he married Mary Campbell and they had John and Rose and others too. John Maclean (son of Daniel MacLean) was born approx 1819 and died in 1900 - he was 81 yrs. He went to school in Ireland when his parents moved him there, and at age 19, became a teacher. John and his sister Rose left Ireland, and supposedly went to New York, and when Rose died, he moved up into Canada to be near his uncle john. John built a schoolhouse on his farm called the Barryfield School and he and his son ran a Cheese Factory called the MorningStar. In 1850 he became a city counsellor John had 10 children, I know of 3 of them: Daniel (b:1849 approx) (d:1917) - we think he owned 3 farms and was the reeve (mayor) on the city council about 1900 - but we are unclear if this is the same Daniel MacLean. John married a woman here in Canada, one from the area where he lived, pittsburg township. (now Kingston Ontario). Eliza (B:1850 approx) (d:age 23 in 1873) from appendicitis. and Emma (B:1853, d:1890) Daniel had two wives. The first one he had 2 children with, I know one of them was George (b in Kingston moved to BC and worked in a power plant as an engineer). The second one was Anne Wilmott and they had 10 children. I know the names of 4: Emma, Gertie, Anne (one of these may be from the first wife - i don't know) and Francis "Frank" MacLean. Francis married Maude Hutton and they moved to Red Cliff Alberta in 1913. There they had 4 children: Orton MacLean (b: 1920, d:1996) - my grandpa. Ernie MacLean Vina MacLean and Etta MacLean. Orton Maclean married Donelda Baptist and they had Douglas Maclean. Douglas MacLean married Lois Mills and they had me ... Cynthia Ann MacLean. If anything sounds familiar, please let me know.
