Eric,
I am so sorry that I have not responded to your response to me but the fact is simply, that your email was put in my trash bin on my computer for whatever reason. Sometime I go thru them before deleting them and have found postings by other folks including yourself. I guess the "computer trash man or woman" seems to think that our postings are spam sometimes!!!
Your posting was interesting and certainly those Macklin Doctors did wonderful work in their careers. However my folks who named their children with the middle name Macklin lived during the civil war period and as such would have not known of the much later works of the Doctors Macklin.
They lived in Southern Illinois and Southern Missouri during the Civil War period.
Certainly if you would have any "earlier" knowledge on the Macklin name I would appreciate your sharing it with me.
My middle name Macklin ancestors surname was Buckner. My g-g-g-grandfather was Joseph Newton whose daughter Nancy Newton married David Buckner and they put the middle Macklin name in some of their children. I am working on the possibility that Nancy Newton Buckners grandmother was possible a Macklin.
But again, thanks so much for taking your time to respond back to my posting. It is very much appreciated.
Respectfully,
Linda [email protected]
