I have been searching for YEARS for information about Mary E. Mackie who married John Francis Lamb abt. 1857 either in IA or IN. She later married F.F. Martin and lived in IN. Searching the census records, I had not been able to make any connection between the Lambs and the Mackie's. Until today. In 1860, James Mackie born abt 1814 in VA, with his wife Mary, and children, John, Emily, Wm, Susan, and Martha lived in Charleston, Lee, IA. John Francis Lamb, had family that lived in the same town and was actually listed on the previous page from where I found James and family. The ages about fit, and since they were married before 1860, Mary E. wouldn't be listed is his household. In 1870, I found James and family in Lone Oak, Bates, MO, wife Mary, Martha, Pheby and Ser W(?) are listed. That's were I lose them, except for son John, who was in California in 1880.
Sorry, I am excited about this, anyway, now I need to find out who James Mackie's parents were. It shows him being born in VA about 1814. His wife Mary, was born about 1818 in PA. Any ideas?
