Do you have a MACKIE Family with Shirreff and Kirkwood names

I have a branch headed by John MACKIE (1848-1896) and Isabella MACKIE (nee KIRKWOOD)(1849 - ????.

John was a Corn mercahnt. They were married in 1874 in Edinburgh, and had following children all born in/around Portobello: James (b1875), Charles Shirreff (b1877), John Kirkwood (b1878), Evelyn Mabel (b 1883) and Arthur Ernest (b1885).

HOWEVER, they seem to have vanished from Scotland (checking 1891 & 1901 censuses). Does anyone in the US/Canada/NZ/Aus have this group in their tree.

I know where the KIRKWOOD middle name of John Jr. comes from - but I have no SHIRREFFs... so where does that come from?!?
