John Mackey/Ann Alexander, Penns/N. Carolina, ~1751, revisited

There are a TON of posts regarding these two as far back as 1999. I've attepted to contact several folks with information unsuccessfuly, as most of their email addresses are no longer current.

Reposting what information is known/has been suggested in the hopes that others have come up with additional information to help fill in blanks for a bunch of folks whose lineage comes from John and Ann:

1. John Mackey, b: ~1726, Ireland
d: 1787 to 1795, North Carolina
m:~1751, Ann Alexander, Ireland

2. Ann Alexander, b: ~1735, Ireland or Scotland
d: unknown year, but possibly in TN
m: John Mackey, ~1751, Ireland
(Some reports that Ann moved to Tennessee after John died in North Carolina, and that she may have remarried...)

There's been a debate for years that John and Ann didn't marry until they arrived in America, but general information is that John and Ann married in Ireland about 1751. They reportedly immigrated to America that same year, perhaps through Philadelphia. John's two brothers (unknown if they were older or younger than John or when they were born) William and Thomas, and possibly "other members of the family" reportedly came with John and Ann. John and Ann settled first in Chester County, PA, and around 1759, moved to South Carolina. By 1767, the family moved to {then} Rowan {now} McDowell County, NC. I have at least one mention that John and Ann are buried in the Cemetery of Old Ebeneezer Church near Greenlee, NC.

John and Ann had numerous children:
Mary Mackey, b: 19 Dec 1756, Chester Co., PA
(Lt.) James Mackey, b: 24 May 1759, Chester Co., PA
(James is my 5x grandfather...)
John Mackey Jr., b: 1766
Elizabeth Mackey (no further information)
Annie Mackey b: 1770?
Jane Mackey, no further information
Thomas Jefferson Mackey, b: 1774
Nancy Mackey, b: 1775?
William Mackey, b:1775?
Alexander Mackey, b: 1779

I have a copy of Lois Fretwell's book, "History of John and Ann (Alexander) Mackey and Their Descendants, 1751-1985", which has a lot of good information, but there are a few updates that need to be done as far as timelines, spouses, descendants, etc. I also have a copy of James' will, which I have transcribed; this was recorded in Pike County, MO in 1834, well after John and Ann would have died, so there is no assistance there.

I have quite a bit of "whiff" information in the form of tax records, war records etc. to document John living in North Carolina. It has been mentioned that Thomas Mackey died in North Carolina, and William in South Carolina.

Does anyone have any solid, documented, updated information on John and Ann, such as:
Where they may have been born in Ireland (or possibly
Scotland in Ann's case)?
Where they were married?
Any information on John and Ann's parents?
Has anyone ever comes across John's will, probably
filed in North Carolina?

Judging by the number of requests for information for John and Ann, there are a LARGE number of descendants looking for good information on these two, so some good solid answers or information would do a lot of good for a lot of folks!

Thanks for any assistance in advance...

Neil Mackey
