I have been searching for a current email for you for a very long time, so I am VERY HAPPY I finally found you. John and Margaret (Logsdon) McKenzie are my 3 greats grandparents.
I haven't found anything regarding John McKenzie's lineage, but someone sent me a handwritten chart (no author), that had John and Margaret listed along with Samuel and Henny (McKenzie) McKenzie listed as a brother. Samuel and Henny were baptismal sponsors for John (your line) If memory serves me right.
The parents to John and Samuel are listed as Samuel F. and Ellen (Unknown) McKenzie. In the top left corner of the doc. is written "Note: the names of the children were taken from the court records of estate settlement of Samuel F. Mckenzie who dies without a will" In the other corner is written,"This data taken from Allegany land record Vol. GGB #7"
When I was in Ohio, I searched for John's (father) headstone and had no luck.
We do have pictures of family members we cannot explain in the Remington McKenzie Album. I have wondered if some of these children may have been John's (your line) kids.
If you are not opposed to just emailing at p-amari@comcast.net, I will send you a copy of the handwritten doc that has Samuel F. Mckenzie's lineage. Wouldn't it be great if this was John's (died in 1829) father?
I first found all the letters written by Jane online that you posted and I have been looking for ever since.
