Michael -

Perhaps you've already figured this out, but here's what I have on the first generation of Evansville Tholes. I don't see any Mackes in this generation or in subsequent generations, but see my note below.
-----------------------
(1) Joseph Thole (198), b. 1835 at Germany
+Dara Holtman (199), b. 1843 at Holland, m. 17 Aug 1863 at Vanderburgh, IN, d. 1 Feb 1933 at IN

(2) - Joseph Thole Jr (197), b. 19 May 1864 at IN, d. 22 Jul 1932 at IN
+Maggie F. Lannert (204), b. 7 Jul 1867 at IN, m. 14 May 1889 at Vanderburgh, IN, d. 28 Jan 1931 at Vanderburgh, IN

(2) - Elisabeth M. Thole (200), b. 1866 at IN, d. 20 Jan 1921 at IN
+Charles Lindenschmidt (219), b. circa 1860 at Germany, m. 29 Jan 1889 at Vanderburgh, IN

(2)- Louisa Thole (201), b. 1867 at IN, d. 29 Nov 1946 at IN

(2) - Charles J. Thole (202), b. 1869 at IN, d. 11 Nov 1947 at IN
+Ellen Kelly (269), b. circa 1880, m. 31 May 1902 at Vanderburgh, IN, d. before 1930

(2) - Katie Thole (203), b. 1876 at IN
| +Jacob J. Koch (222), b. 1876, m. 12 Nov 1901 at IN, d. 19 Feb 1963 at IN
|
(2) - Cecelia Thole (208), b. 1886 at IN, d. 13 Jan 1963 at IN

-------------------------

There has long been a family story that there were three Thole brothers who came to the US as young men before the Civil War, and one went to Cincinnati, one (Joseph)to Evansville and one to St. Louis. Part of this story is that they came from Alsace Lorraine (which actually doesn't make any sense...) The Macke-Thole relation in the family may be through the Cincinnati brother??

Any info you have would be interesting to me.

Sarah
