Hello, Part of my line includes a Neil McKay b. 1852 who married a Sara McKinnon. His father was Hector and Mother was Margaret. You can find informatio about these McKays and others in the History of Inverness County Nova Scotia, by J.L. Macdougal, published 1922. If you think I have more information. I do know that when the McKays came to this country (Boston) they changed the spelling to MacKay. In 1881 Canadian Census he was listed as a student at age 29. It was reported he returned to Scotland to preach and died there. The History reports he was a minister in East Lake too. "My Neil" - at any rate. Perhaps there is information to share. I am related to Donald Ewen Neil's brother. Of course, the names are pretty common. David McKay (The New York family kept the original spelling.) Notify Administrator about this message?
