Hi Rodney:
Your William Mackay who lived on Conscession 9 of East Zorra lived on lot 10, west 1/2 and my Peter Mackay lived cons. 9, lot 10, east 1/2.They both purchased the lots from a William Sutherland - your William in 1834, my Peter in 1835.Your William sold his half to a George Mackay in 1844.I don't know if there is a relationship here. Peter was froma muir called Asdale, Rearquhar, near Dornoch. His father was Alexander (who drowned in the famous Miekle Ferry disaster of 1809), and his mother was Annie Ross from Asdale, Rearquhar.Do you know more info on your William (or otherwise called Robert)? My Mackays are mostly buried in the Presbyterian cemetery on the north edge of Woodstock, Ontario.I live not too far away, but in a different county (I was raised in East Zorra).
