I am researching the family of William Abraham W. Maught, grandson of the Hessian soldier Andreas Heinrich Maagd / Andrew Maught of Maryland. William was born in Maryland about 1824, son of Daniel and Phoebe (Blessing) Maught, and came to Perry Township, Franklin County, OH, where he married Lucinda Legg. His sister D. Jannett "Jennie" Maught lived nearby in Perry.
His censuses of 1850 through 1880 are fascinatingly difficult to reconcile, and I would appreciate exchanging data and ideas with anyone familiar with this family. Childrens' names include Ellen, Elizabeth, Clary, John, Amelia, Annie, Rosanna, Daniel, Samuel and Ida. I have not as yet identified Lucinda Legg's parentage.
