Our family origins appear to be from Pomerania which is also Germany, I believe. The list posted by Stan Mach lists my relatives down through my father's generation. I don't know about the double dot over the"a" but I do know our name was shortened from vonMach. I have a notebook of our family tree but do not show a Dieterland. Do you have any other family names that I may look for? I am interested in knowing what the family crest looks like. We are in the Detroit area and I am currently researching our lines to Ernst Mach. Any help is always appreciated!
