You probably know this already, but MacGillivray, MacIntosh, and McBean are Clan Chattan confederation, while Rose and Forbes are both prominent families (Kilravock Castle and Culloden House) in the parish where Culloden was fought (Croy and Dalcross) or else the next one north (along Moray Firth) known as Petty. To me, that makes Clan Chattan lands along the east side of Loch Ness an origin worth checking closely. However, it would not be unusual for Chattan folk to move somewhere else immediately after the battle in '46 before making their way to colonies. Parish records go back several generations earlier, so might prove fruitful.
