I have hit a HUGE brick wall in searching for my deceased grandfather. His name is Hugh McGilvery, born around 1890-1896 to parents Robert Neil McGilvary (sp?) and Maria Boule.
I can locate baptism records on his siblings, Flora born 1884, robert born may 24, 1886, daniel born 1890, hector born 1892, Leo born 1893, and mary born 1897. The mother died in 1897, and Hugh and Mary were sent to an orphanage in Canada.
This is extremely important to me and to my father who has been diagnosed with lung cancer - thus the major reason for this search. McGilvery is spelled many different ways, even on the baptismal certificates of the siblings. Any ideas or suggestions would be gratefully received.
