Try to get "Lachlan McGillivray, Indian Trader-The Shaping of the Southern Colonial Frontier". This book explains in great detail how the McGillivray's came to the U.S.
You can order it through the University of Georgia Press.
Lachlan married Sehoye (a Creek Indian woman). Their son, Alexander McGillivray, became a Creek Indian Chief.
This book is a must for all McGilvray's.
