Hello all, I am assisting a friend in researching her MacFarlane roots. The imigrant ancesters were: George J(ohn?) McFarlane - born abt. 1831 in Scotland, arrived in St. John, NB in 1845 - he was a blacksmith by trade. He married 21.JUN.1854 in Portland to Ann Halliday. They had eight children, three of whom lived in New Glasgow, Pictou, NS. George died in St. John (Poertland) on 10.JAN.1883. Ann Halliday was born about 1836 in Northern Ireland (Belfast area) and arrived in St. John in 1851. She was supposedly the daughter of a John Halliday. She died in St. John. The three children that removed to New Glasgow were: William who married an Annie Taylor and had 11 children. Robert who married a Marg. Patterson and had 2 known children. Alexander who married a Rena or Christine McEachern and had 8 known children. Robert and Alexander were boilermakers by trade. Just wondering if anyone may have any information on these individuals or perhaps maybe even descended from one. Any help, information or direction would be most appreciated. Thank you!!
