I am local historishian from city of Tetovo, Macedonia. I was wery glad to read about your ansestry from Tetovo. The period when your grand father was born 1893 Tetovo was under Turkish rule (Otoman Empire) and the city had turkish name Kalkandelen. All of the documents from that period were writen on turkish (arabic letters) and also on macedonian in the churches were they were baptised. Anyhow as historishian i know well that is extremly hard to find any geneology data becouse records were lost over the year ang change of governments and wars (Tetovo was under turks till 1912, Serbs 1912-13, bulgarians 1914-1918, and again Serbs 1919-1940, Albanians and Italians during WWII).
You should also know that you can not find data over your grand fatrer Surname becouse 100 years ago in this part of the world the surname was not past over generations but it was received from the fatrer name (Vasilev means more son/grandson of Vasil).
Acording to macedonian transkription the original name of your Grand grand father was for shure Bozhin (Bojin with J like in franch word Journal)Vasilev (its common that macedonian surnames ends with -ov or with -ski). Even today in Tetovo this surname is very common but that does not mean for shure that they are your cousins. Original Macedonian language (cyrilic)transcription of the name would be: Божин Василев, thats for certain.
Enyhow i am awailable to be your host and tarvel guide any time you want to visit the city of your ancestors, today with 65.000 citisens.
Regards from Tetovo,
