I am also researching my family from Banitza-Vevi. The last name is Zhezhov or Zezov, which was Americanized to Zezoff. My great grandfather was Nikola Zhezhov (his passport read Nicola Ath Gegoff) born in 1869, and his wife was named Patria or Sophia (possible last name Evanoff). They had 6 children, the only one surviving was Lazar Nikoloff Zhezhov, born 11 Mar 1909 in Banitza. Nikola had a brother named George, whose wife was named Anna (possible last name Popruseff). They had several children, but only 1 came to America, Mitze Georgoff Zhezhov, who was born 18 April 1900 also in Banitza. He travelled here under the name of Dimitri Gezo. I have had no luck with any research on my family. Would your family perhaps have some information or suggestions on where I could proceed? I would greatly appreciate any assistance. Many thanks for your time-Mary
