I know this is a horribly late response but I'm his great-granddaughter so I actually have some information that might be of use to you. My grandfather was James MacDougall who actually named his son (my father) Joseph Forrest in honor of his father. Joseph Forrest was actually a soldier in WWI and not WWII. To my knowledge only two of his children are still alive, Maryanne and Alvin (who prefers to be referred as Mickey.)

James had six children, Valerie, Shelley, Forrest, Wendy, Tracey and Morley Anthony. Sadly he passed away in 1996 but if you'd like anymore information (albeit a little late) just let me know and I'll tell you as much as I can.
